Translation:This comedy is a big worldwide hit.
Worldwide (global) and international are both adjectives that relate to a larger scale than that of a country. Global is relative to the whole world while international is relative to several nations without the number of nations being exhaustive at the level of all the nations of the globe.
How does one have a little worldwide hit? Worldwide expresses the enormity of the success, I just hope that the French I am learning is not as peculiar as the English that it is meant to represent. At level 1 "I bought some fruits" rather than "I bought some fruit", was used. I still shudder.
