Puis-je aller aux toilettes or puis-je vais aux toilettes

hello I am quite new to french and was wondering if someone could help me out with this. Do both these phrases make sense or is there a certain way it should be said? Thank you.

"aller" is an infintive; it is not the main verb (which gets conjugated).

Je puis aller. --- I can go.

Puis-je aller? --- Can I go?

Ils peuvent aller. --- They can go.

"Puis-je vais" is not grammatical.

The first one. Back in high school we had to recite this line in order to get permission to leave class. "Puis-je aller aux toilettes?"

"Puis-je aller aux toilettes" is perfect, the other is wrong
