Plurals in Dutch (-en/-s)

Hallo!

Are there any rules to Dutch plurals? Admittedly, they're far less complicated than Russian or even German, but they're still tricky. Why is it "meisjes" and not "meisjen?" Why "beren" and not "beers?"

Dank je wel!

It's beren btw. Een beer, twee beren. Een boom, twee bomen; een bom twee bommen.
