Is that not what Duo is asking? With the question is he saying the exposition was beautiful or the photos at the exposition were beautiful? The way I am interpreting it is the expo that is beautiful. Likely wouldn't say that in English.
"photo exhibit"? Photography exhibit(ion) surely, unless it's an exhibit of a single photo.
"an exhibit" is what Americans (often) call an exhibition.
