Par quoi je commence ?

Hello, I am a novice in french and had a question regarding this phrase I ran into. It's translated as "where do I start". I am confused as to why it isn't " Où es que je commence, or according to google is "où esque je commence?"

*Also maybe someone can answer what is the difference between es que or esque? And when either one would be used.

Thanks,

according to google is "où esque je commence?

I think Google answered Où est-ce que which is correct.

what is the difference between es que or esque?

They are equally incorrect.

I am confused as to why it isn't " Où es que je commence

You can't just translate word for word. In french you rather say What do I begin with/by ?. But you could also say Où est-ce que je commence ? and it would be as natural.

Thank you, I sometimes forget that you can't translate French word for word, since for the most part that is how I have been learning. So when you say Par quio, you are saying literally saying "by which way or what do I begin"?
