"My name is Michael" should also be accepted, shouldn´t it?


Depends how loosely translated sentences you were to accept, Duolingo in general tries to force you to use the most literal translation that actually makes sense in the language of the translation. And literally Is mise Mìcheal is I am Michael.

My name is Michael would be expressed by (is e) Mìcheal an t-ainm a th’ orm.

Sure, both carry the same information, but the latter explicitly mentions the name, the former does not.


I just think it's kinda cute that the voice saying "Is mise Micheal" is a girls.
