Hi faithisgood, have you tried any of the following from our help page (http://duolingo.com/#/help)?

My sound is not working. What can I do? First, ensure that your volume is turned up and that sound is working properly elsewhere on your computer. If the sound only appears to be broken in Duolingo's lessons, try refreshing the web page in the browser. If this does not fix the problem, try closing and reopening the browser.

If that doesn't work, you can also turn off the "Speaker" in the account settings page: http://duolingo.com/#/settings/account to continue doing the lessons. For now, the best place to post would be the "Troubleshooting" section. I will move your thread there. Please let us know if you keep having sound issues or if you have any other questions!
