I note that someone I am following asked about Italian. That sounds nice. Is the general plan to get all languages on the go? I personally would love to learn Arabic and and and ;)

Spanna, I think it'll be pretty nice if they will add Russian. I started to learn German. But I want learn English too. And your sentence is wrong. :) It must be something like this: Да, русский тоже хорошая идея. Sorry about my english. :)

The current plan is that Portuguese will be added this year. Then, Mandrian will be added either late 2012 or sometime during 2013, the second case being more likely. After that, Japanese will be added, possibly as late as 2014. Arabic is not even on the roadmap, so it probably will not be added anytime soon.

I am not reponsbile for developing duolingo. I would actually like to see arabic and madrian soon, but that unfortunately will not happen. I am just telling you the facts.

"ok so how do you know this?"

The developers posted about this on reddit.

"and what is madrian? I've heard of mandarin"

I meant mandarin, but I am a terrible speller.
