I tried saying environ de cinquante and marked wrong. Hoping for clarity here too.
Saying "about of fifty" doesn't make sense.
yes, but 'environ' would more likely be used with a number that isn't generally '-tained'. if you said; '...about a hundred and thirty'. '...environ cent trente.'
