Cannot pronounce words

I can read what is said and I am gaining awareness as to how sentences are made up in french but I really struggle with the pronunciation. On many words I just get tongue tied and just cannot say them. Is this common and does it come easier eventually?

Practice, it gets easier to say words when you get comfortable making the sounds. I would recommend parroting words and checking out some pronunciation guides. When I first took french I could never pronounce the r's because the sound was too foreign to me but after a couple months in the class I picked it up. I would also write down all the words you find difficult to pronounce and see if there is a specific sound you struggle with saying :) bonne chance

I parrot read the stories over and over again. There is just somethings I struggle to say.

Just remember prectice makes perfect. Keep on trying and you will eventually get it.

It can be very hard to pronounce French words. If you need help, you can go to https://www.fluentu.com/blog/french/french-pronunciation-online/

Thank you. I will check that out.

Hum. I'm French . There are a lot of youtube videos for pronunciation. So here you can find: https://www.youtube.com/user/ENGLISHCLASS101 https://www.youtube.com/user/theteachervanessa https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCedNvCoEg9MSVq8iGwc-M3Ahttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKgpamMlm872zkGDcBJHYDg https://www.youtube.com/user/JamesESL But it's more for learning. There are also a lot of applications like Memrise, Babbel or Busuu.

Thank you. I will look on youtube to help me to speak the french words.

French is a very fluid and beautiful language. It takes a lot of listening and practicing but given effort you can master the language.

Not sure if it will come with DL. It helps to have a teacher who can correct your mouth and tongue positioning and let you know when you get it right. There are some good YouTube videos on pronunciation. And Pimsleur will introduce new words and phrases syllable by syllable.

Otherwise - practice.

I know, me too! I can read but I can try to pronounce words, and I'm really bad at it.

It is hard using the language with so many silent letters and very quick pronunciation. I think I will have to take a French spoken class at a later date. Thank you for your post. It's good to know it is not just us.
