I believe I have seen this mentioned before in a forum or two but the discussion search does not work for me.
When using the web version (French from English), and an answer is wrong, the answer blocks from the word bank virtually disappear. This makes it all but impossible to locate one's error.
It is surely extremely easy for Duo programmers to fix this by changing the font colour. So, after all this time, why has this annoyance not been sorted?
Is there a way to report this other than on this discussion forum? The "Report" button on the questions does not lead to a valid option for this.
The Discussion forum isn't regularly followed by Duolingo's tech teams - so posting complaints about the nature of the app here (or even on troubleshooting) is a wasted effort.
The troubleshooting forum sometimes has workarounds discovered by other users, so is worth searching, but the tech teams do not use it to identify features to fix or improve - it is just a user forum.
File a bug report - that is the only official route. But note that many have tried, and Duo doesn't listen!
