Scottish Gaelic from English

How can I learn what words are feminine and thus requiring lenition in the adjective before I miss them in practice?

There isn't an easy way, but if you don't mind a little reading, Akerbeltz has a few pages in Beagan Gràmair that might help.

Beagan Grammar contents:

http://www.akerbeltz.org/index.php?title=Beagan_gr%C3%A0mair

One page is called "How to gender a noun"

http://akerbeltz.org/index.php?title=How_to_gender_a_noun

The other two are separate pages for Masculine and Feminine Nouns:

There is also a page on lenition here:

http://www.akerbeltz.org/index.php?title=Lenition_and_why_that_is_your_mother%27s_fault

Finally, Akerbeltz has two downloadable pdf files with noun + adjective patterns for definite (includes "the") and indefinite nouns. There is a pattern file for traditional/conservative forms and for normal/colloquial:

Apologies if I have not been able to show these all as links, but the paths should work if you cut and paste them.

Oh, my goodness! There's more in this stuff than I could have dreamed of! This is great! Darn, it won't let me give you another lingot.
