Can I change my daily XP target?
Hello! I would like to add a second language in Duolingo, but I've got a technical problem that I can't resolve, and for which I haven't found any clues:
When I started my first language, I remember choosing an "insane" daily target of 50 XP in order to maintain my streaks, which has been fun. But, now that I want to add a second language, I can see that I won't have time to include both the old language at 50 XP per day plus the new language at whatever its target is set at.
I'd like to reduce the amount of time spent on the first language by reducing its daily XP target to maintain my streaks.
Does anyone know how I can do that? I can't seem to find instructions anywhere.
Do you have the iOS or Android app? If yes, you can only set/change daily goals on that, I think (but not on the website, though).
Looks like that might be another A/B feature test, as I don't have that either... I hope it gets rolled out soon, I like that look for the profile tab much better.
I think so. I've had other accounts and some of them have a different layout than this one. And I definitely agree, it does look much better than any of the other layouts I've seen on my other accounts!
Actually, as of now you can edit your daily target under your profile. Just click on coach and then save whatever changes you made.
Learning another language will not mean having to reach 50 XPs for each language. So now you can do 30XP on you old language and 20XP on you new language, or any permutation as long as it reaches 50 each day.
If you want to reduce your target then you have to do it on the iOS or android app as Syttamore said.
Just solved it!! The profile access is in the "Clubs" section (upper left hand corner) where you can then go and change your goals. Hope this helps!
I was unable to find out on the computer unfortunately but on the IOS (today's date is 26.11.2017) I was able to edit it by being on the selected language > selecting the streak flame > and hitting edit goal.
