boys pueri non sunt, sed iuvenes. Children pueri sunt. I come from an italian classical high school.

Pueri can indeed mean 'boys' as well as 'children'. Typically in reference to individuals who are no older than 14.

Iuvenes are young adults usually in the age range between 20 and 40.
