DuoBot's translations: A request

There is nothing against using the DuoBot's translations as long as you make sure that the sentence makes sense in English. Some 'beginners', though, translate very quickly via the copy-paste method, but often with very poor results. They should realize that there is a lot more to translating than putting words after one another and that translating takes time. I admit I also use DuoBot, but even then I have to work hard to make a sentence into an intelligible lot. Please try to deliver translations that make sense.

I'm of the view that Duobot should only be available for baby translators, say those in Tiers 1 and 2. After that you should just have to give it your unaided best shot, and if you're not sure about some part of your translation then leave a note explaining why.

Hear hear. I sometimes wind up using online dictionaries for words or phrasings that don't quite make sense to me (or to confirm what I already think), but not Duobot. It's not particularly useful to someone at my level...

Duolingo goes after people who use duobot translations. When I think I see such a thing, I don't just down-vote it--I report it for abuse.

They're easy to spot because they make no sense. Even a foreign student doesn't make that kind of crazy mistake. If there's any doubt, I just let it go. If I see the same person has a dozen "doubtful" translations in a row, though . . .

I like Duobot, but I need all the help I can get. I translate then compare to Duobot. Sometimes Duobot doesn't make sense but sometimes it helps me to clear up things that are a little tough. If someone wants to copy/paste, then they are cheating themselves and wasting time.

This is ridiculous. Then everyone who wasn't serious about learning a language would learn Duobot.

Edit: The current version is good. If we are confused on a translation, Duobot can help us. If the translation's right, then Duobot's not helping anyone. Sorry if my message above seemed rather harsh.
