I hope this update finds you all well. We are getting incredibly close to launching the course in Beta and we are working hard to ensure that we produce a course that conforms to the standards expected of a Duolingo course. This cannot be achieved without providing a course complete with audio to facilitate multimodal learning. We are trying hard to ensure that the text to speech (TTS) technology which will be incorporated into the course will accurately portray the language and allow for the development of the listening skill. We are nearly there. Please bear with us. Sure yee have waited this long ;).

I cannot wait to start using the course! Despite the fact I don't know much about the Irish language (at least much less than I knew about other languages before learning them), I feel that studying it with Duolingo might be a really good adventure. So I keep my fingers crossed for all the time, because I want everything to be just fine :)
What would you like to know? Check out this video by an Irish girl who make's lot's of really funny videos about Ireland and being Irish. Most of them are in English, but some are in Irish too in case you want to hear it. This one is about a new minister (politician) who she's teaching Irish to. By reading the subtitles you'll see some of the levels of grammer in Irish.
Very excited to see this come out. The audio is the part I am most looking forward to as "broad" and "slender" consonants and the crazy vowel combos have been impossible to learn with books alone...I need to hear this language to learn it! A beautiful language, no doubt, but a tricky one to grasp phonetically! :)
I just can't wait to learn Enya's native language! It makes me so inspired that I can't stop listening to her.
Awesome! I can't wait for this one, either. I really want to be able to sing along and understand my favorite Irish music, among other things. And I'm sure the course will be a blast - I'm already finding the incubated courses to be amazing with the Dutch course. Here's me cheering Team Irish to the finish line!
To be sure oi can wait a bit longer (but not too long). De crack will be wort it.
Hopefully the speech will be easier to understand than my cousins.(and they supposedly speak in English!!)
I am so excited! It has been my dream since I was a child to learn the language of my heritage. Keep up the good work!
