"My teeth really hurt me!"

Why is ñuhi required in this sentence? I just encountered one of the other sentences,

Arlī elekossa yne ōdris. "My ears are hurting me again."

where ñuhyz was disallowed. While I could imagine a logical reason for the difference (only your own ears are capable of hurting you, whereas another's teeth can), that's more conjecture than I'm comfortable with indulging.


I agree with you; ñuhi should not be required as it is clear the teeth are hurting you because of avy. My conjecture is that ñuhi is emphatic here.
