mlusicas Actually, there is a difference between "ouvir = to hear" and "escutar = to listen". Listen to something is like pay attention, doing the action of listening (Listen to me when I talk to you!). Hear is an involuntary action your body does (unless you have a hearing deficiency, of course). You don't control that, when you walk by the street, you can HEAR cars' noise, for example. Another sample: If you are in a crowded place, you can HEAR that are people talking a lot, but you don't know what. Only if you pay attention on what somebody is saying you'll LISTEN TO what the person is saying.
