why not : Mon sac est ici mais je ne sais pas où se trouve le tien
It's completely correct and should be accepted.
Your sentence is now on the answers list. 19-AUG-21
Aren't you adding the idea of finding to the French sentence? How did you decide to use trouvé?
I have seen it in many sentences before in Duolingo such as "Où se trouve la Tour Eiffel" meaning where is the Eiffel Tower.
not 'trouver' but 'se trouver'-'to find oneself'
"...where yours finds itself'--where it is.
the first se trouver definition.
Is this wrong?... 'Je ne sais pas où le tien est'
Duo things it is so I would like to know why so i dont repeat this mistake again
I think your sentence structure is the problem. Oû est le tien, not oû le tien est.
you might get dinged for having the wrong diacritic mark over the "u". generally it isn't a problem except for é.
I put a comma between ici and mais, and it was marked wrong. I don't recall any tips on punctuation, so if that's not correct French punctuation, I don't think it should be marked wrong.
Punctuation is not taken into account, so you most likely made a mistake somewhere.
Most punctuation is ignored, that's true.... except for apostrophes, which Duo is pretty fussy about. Also, I have seen some indication that hyphens, too, are marked down if absent.
J'ai utilisé la mot valise en lieu de mot sac mais il n'etait pas accepter
une valise is a suitcase, un sac is a purse or bag or sack.
why does est come after ou and not after le tien?
