Why isn't it an bhean eibhinn? I think this must have been explained earlier and I missed it. Sorry

Before the lenited consonants (like bh, mh, ph, gh, etc.) an loses the n and is written as a’ (and before unlenited labial consonants: b, f, m, p it is written as am).
