Translating "Elsa" as "Elsa" and "Otso" as "Otso" is a waste of time.
It's all about learning tho phonetics, I think. They've been put in there for the purpose of the 'type what you hear' exercises
But even "Elsa ja Otso" would teach us one important Finnish word.
This is so hard... what might be Elsa in English?
It means tax evasion
Taakse jää taakse jää
Brain: Don't do it...
Heart: Pleeeease don't do it...
Mouth: DO YOU WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAAANNNNN???
I got this!
Didn’t Duolingo have Finnish before? I remember it did years ago.
It's brand new :-)
No, I think this is the first time. Many have been waiting this for years (in a facebook-group)! :) I'm from Finland myself but I wanted to check this out anyway as soon as I got to know this is here.
My first word of learning Finnish is 'Elsa'. This'll be a memorable word and I shall keep this word close to my heart until I Finnish this course.
Oh my beloved Elsa!
