I wonder why "here you are, some salad" isn't accepted?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/K1WK3j2U

i don't know why but that is what i came here to say and i reported that salad should be accepted as that is another translation of it, without context you cannot know for sure which one is required so both should be accepted

It's accepted and has been accepted since the launch of this course. Please check your sentence for other errors. :)

"a salad" is not accepted tho

That would be "salaatti" without the partitive ending.

There is no word for some in this sentence.

You can leave it out if you want to. salaatti is an uncountable word here and we do not know exactly how much salaatti there is. This means that the word appears in its partitive form with the a at the end. You can translate salaattia as "salad" or as "some salad". If this word appears in a question or negative sentence, you can also translate it with "any salad". :)

So, the salad, which can also be also indefinite

So, 'the salad', which can also be uncountable, should also be accepred. Please correct.

"Salad, here you are" was rejected. I'm not sure why. Reported.

Yeah, I also wrote that.

Why is "here is your salad" incorrect?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/LazarevZubov

For example, there's no "your" in the untranslated sentence.

"Here is your salad" would be "tässä (teidän) salaattinne" or "tässä (sinun) salaattisi". Or just, "salaattinne, olkaa hyvä".
