Translation: A bheil thu sona?

Toilichte as 'happy, glad, pleased'

So, is 'toilichte' more heightened or intense than 'sona'?
Would "bha mi sona a nuair chuala mi naidheachd mhath" sound a little odd? (the way Gladness would sound more fitting than 'contentedness' in english')
