"The Norwegian man is quiet."

Translation:Norjalainen mies on hiljainen.

June 26, 2020

In a multiple choice question the correct answer presented was "Norjalaismies on hiljainen." I haven't been introduced to the structure of 'norjalaismies' yet before this question. Is this explained later in the course, and is there any subtle difference in meaning between that and 'norjalainen mies' or are they identical?

Simple answer: They are identical.

More advanced: You might be more likely to use norjalaismies in a context where it's already clear that there are people of various nationalities involved, and norjalainen mies more when there is no such context.
