Rhis was my answer and it was accepted. It is definitely a more common construction than the given answer.

The problem there is "kids" at a guess. That would be gamins [gamin(e)(s)]. Enfants is always translated as "children" on DL - not saying that it holds true in France!

You can't measure children on a wall. Ridiculous. You an mark tbe height of children on a wall.
Is it wrong to change the sentence order in English to make something that sounds...er, English? "We measure our children against this wall every year" - in any case, Duo apparently doesn't think so. Pity.

"We measure our children on that wall every year." not accepted 20/7/20. reported.
I don't positively know if this is the reason; but I have noticed that here on Duolingo, "this" seems to be preferred over "that." (no pun intended).

I think so ... my answer "on that wall we measure our children every year" was rejected, and the suggested "right" one is tha same but with "this"
