There Is a Ripoff of Duolingo!
In the AppStore, somebody named duolingo duolingo is selling slightly different versions of this app. They are selling each language workbook for 2.99 usd and have similar owl avatars as well as a blue background and slightly different clouds. Please help get this to the attention of duolingo and the App Store.

Thanks for sharing! Duolingo will be free now and forever. That is definitely a ripoff :) We're on it!
:O That is unfortunate. Isn't Duolingo copyrighted, as well as stuff like Duo? On the bright side, Duolingo is free, Duolingo-Duolingo isn't. :)
EDIT: Just checked the app store, and the good news is, the reviews say it is just a poorly made dictionary.
EDIT 2: Just noticed they actually created a free version too! :o Is this against the law?
Most likely violating the law... if it was exactly the same as Duolingo. :o
I looked at it and I just couldn't believe someone would do something like that. Guess they thought the paid version would be better.
It's more of a trademark infrigment, and yes they might violate the law.
The ripoff, in case you haven't seen it:
Poor Duo...he must be so sad he was plagarized... :(
That's a part of his face... and on top of that, they made him extremely ugly... poor thing...
He probably was... how mean could they get ... and besides that, now he's really fat... :(
Where did the owlet in the mortarboard image come from? Did the plagiarisers make it themselves or did they steal it from Duo proper?
I suspect they stole it...The head looks a lot like Duo's face. But if not, they copied it very well.
Its face looks so big and bulgy...not like Duo at all. :/ I hope Apple removes it soon. They're usually good at being prompt with removals.
Thanks for mentioning that, it is really bad from there side.
I have reported about them 2 months ago at the following: https://www.duolingo.com/comment/2977402 , because I have actually purchased their Spanish version thinking it was our real duolingo, but it did not even work!
I believe they took it off for sometime and it has just returned recently. (because someone mentioned a week or so ago that he saw it on android, and when I checked it wasn't on the iPhone iOS)
However now it is there again -shame on them, cheers & lingot for you : )
I don't understand why Apple would approve an obviously plagiarised app to be sold in their AppStore.
It's not like they're unaware of Duo, it won app of the year 2013!
