All gold tree .... all gold stories!
So pleased that I've just finished everything! I found some of the skills in level 5 took some time to gild; they were put in at the last update.
Thank you! It's a long time since I've thought about levels but I can remember feeling a real sense of achievement at reaching level 25. I suppose all gold is the next aim but it takes so much longer that reaching level 25 there should be something in-between to aim for.
Thank you Scott! I agree but am strangely reluctant to leave Duolingo. I'm also learning Spanish and will keep practicing that as I have a long way to go before it's the same level as my French. I may have a look at Clozemaster for French as I've heard that's the next logical step.
This is the second time I have gilded the tree. I had just got it golden in around December when the tree was updated and I received a lot of new skills. I've been working since then to get it gold again. To get the tree golden the first time took around a year and a half of serious practice. I also use Memrise; their own French course, this is very good. And I try to translate at least one article from Franceinfo every day; I have to use the dictionary a lot as I find there are a lot of words I don't know.
I didn't write down the new words. I think that one of the great things about Duolingo is the amount of practice you get with new vocabulary. I found that by the time I had got to level 5 in each skill I had practiced the new words so many times I knew them and will hopefully retain them forever.
