Very unnatural english

NB this translation would be correct in British English, but Americans would (as others have pointed out) say "sports are fun" instead

Both should be accepted

As an as good as native Irish English speaker I'd say sport is fun. It really just depends on where you're from and which kind of English you're used to I guess.

What is the problem with "The sport is fun"?

Not usually, at least not on purpose.

Since it was tap on a word i was very temped to say sport is fluffy

At least "sport is fluffy" uses correct grammar.
