"No?" can also replace "Mitä?" = ("What?") in certain cases. For example when your mom yells your name you can yell back "No?!" or when your friend asks you "guess what?" (= "Arvaa mitä?") or "you know what?" (= "Tiedätkö mitä?"). You can reply with any of the following: "No?", "Mitä?" or "No mitä?" all meaning "what?"

My finnish family could defenetly say this. It would be like answering the question with "uh, i guess i am, despite all". This word holds a lot of the finnish attitude to me!
