Definitely abhainn is not wrong, you’ll find this wrong in practically all Gaelic dictionaries… abhuinn looks like a variant obsolete spelling though – in older texts, both Gaelic and Irish, you’ll find some variation between a and u written in unstressed positions (compare eg. the name Seumas or Seumus).
