Ellos/ellas are both correct because you cannot know from the English word 'they' who they are, male or female.
Ustedes means "you all" as in referring directly to more than one person. Theyis either ellos (male or mixed) or ellas (girls)
Yes... I learnt the most of my Spanish from school and we never really bothered with all the "ellos" or "yo" stuff. As long as you have changed the verb to have the correct ending, you should be fine! Good luck with learning the rest of Spanish!
I put ellos leen, and it was correct.. but I'm confused on why ustedes leen doesn't work/ellos leen
Ustedes is you all, formal.
Vosotros is you all, familiar, used primarily in Spain and rarely in Latin America.
Ellos is "they" if all of the members of the subject are masculine, or if there is one guy in the group, even if there are like 20 females. Ellas is "they" if all of the members of the subject are strictly female.
any one have any tips for me on how to memorize the different forms of "to read" i keep having to hover over the word for translation, and i dont want to have to do that
no they mean the same thing but leen is referring to they (ellos/ellas) lee refers to he she or you (usted, el, ella)
how do we learn what do we have to write for each person its preety hard im begginer and had different words. Is there a "law" or basic should I say how we know or learn in the future (like I read They read We read for every person is the same ,here..not,am i right?) tnx
So why i can not write' ustedes leen ' ? Ellas/ellos/ustedes = they . Yo= I , Tu= You , he/she/it = el/ella/usted , nosotros/as = we, vosotros/as = you ellas/ellos/ustedes = they , i write somthing wrong ?
I got it wrong the first time, and the second time I copied the answer. It still said I was wrong!!
