Yes and in fact "a little" would be more common than "a bit" in English.

Can 'mutta' translate to 'although' in this particular sentence? I wrote that, but got rejected so I'm wondering.

Hmm... you'd most often translate "although" as "joskin", "vaikka", "vaikkakin", "tosin" or "paitsi" depending on the context and the tone you want to have, but here it's pretty close to "mutta"/"but" of course. Difficult to say...
