Suggestion: Ability to view discussions after Timed Practice
I understand that pausing Timed Practice would defeat the purpose, but sometimes I would like to read the discussions about the sentences and words I have missed. This is not possible to do in Timed Practice, because the timer still runs. It would be nice to have the discussions accessible from the "Review Lesson" tab after the practice has been completed.
The same would be helpful for the ability to give feedback. i.e. I review my input and the correct sentence, and then I decide whether I should report any part of the excersize.
This is necessary. The current method forces you to read and discuss in seconds. While they could possibly argue, "that's not what a timed test is for!", then what are we to do when we find errors? We cannot adequately report them in seconds. I cannot even explain how many times I've run into this very, very frustrating thing (just now, which is why I found this thread).
Possibly the timer could pause automatically after you submit your entry for grading, so you could have time to analyze your mistake and read discussions.
If you remember what the lesson was about, you can plug in key words in the search at the top of the discussion page. I have found certain lesson discussion pages that I was looking for in this way plus discussions that pertained to it.
I tried that for the sentence I was wondering about, but with no luck. Quotation marks to find specific combinations do not seem to work to well with the search function either.
Why does it defeat the purpose? You read the discussion after answering and before seeing the next prompt. In my opinion there is no downside.
One could abuse that power to have a pause between questions instead of a rapid fire of them.
Yes, I agree. Discussions and correct answers would be good additions to timed practice. because I use a laptop I need to scroll to the bottom of the page, which takes precious seconds in timed practice.
Yes, I always wished I could see the discussion after timed practise. But Saballamas suggestion would also be a good idea. At least one of them should be possible.
I 100% agree with this suggestion. It's great to be able to review the summary of your right and wrong answers after a timed practice (the "review lesson" button), but it's so frustrating to not be able to view the discussions from those tiles there, like you have the option to do while in the lesson.
Yes I agree. I am trying to train my brain to think and react more quickly in Spanish, so I do a lot of timed exercises. I always review anything I got wrong. It would be great to have the option of opening the discussion tab from the review. Being able to pause the clock while looking at the discussion would interrupt the maniacal brain flow required to "beat the clock". I hope that crazy pace will eventually help me understand the fast flow of spoken Spanish, so it would be better not to break for the discussion until the review. .
