This one is tricky...

"Tanskalainen leivos on viineri." should be accepted. Also it's much more common to call it simply a Danish.

I wonder if it would be more clear if the English translation was "A danish is a Danish pastry."

Calling it a "Danish pasty" twice, both times "Danish" being capitalized, seems to imply it's looking for the same word twice. In English, my suggested translation makes more sense.

"Viineri on viineri" seems to also be accepted.

Tanskalainen leivos on tanskalainen leivos should also be accepted

I reported the hover hints as being wrong, as currently they seem to imply that "viineri on viineri" is the best, and indeed intended translation. Accurate, but a little misleading!

Viineri is not a leivos. This should be translated "Viineri on tanskalainen leivonnainen." Even though pastry can be translated "leivos" it isn't correct here. Leivos is more like a little cake, which viineri is not.

When "kinuski on venäläistä herkkua" is correct, why isn't "viineri on tanskalaista leivosta" correct?

Apparently kinuski is uncountable, while danish pastries are countable.

The hints below the word pastry did not give lei so as an option.

I completely forgot the English word for Danish pastry so I hovered over the word and got viineri but it was incorrect. Leivos was not suggested.

It is. Just hover over the down arrow to expand the suggestions. It's at the bottom of the list.

"Viineri on tanskalainen piirakka" isn't accepted. Yet we were given "pie, pastry" as valid translations for "piirakka". I won't argue that "leivos" is valid, but "piirakka" should also work from what we've been taught...
