Granny is the same as grandma

Shouldn't grandma be "Mumma", or is that just a different dialect of finnish?

It could be, although "mumma" isn't as common as "mummo". My mum's mother is called "mummo" while my dad's mother was "mummi" to us. My two grandpas were "ukki" and "pappa" (so neither of them was "vaari"). It depends on the family, and what the grandparents themselves want to be called.

It depends where you are in Finland but also what your grandma "chose" to be called. Some go by slightly different variations of mummo.
