Help in finding easy short stories in spanish

Hi. I know that reading and writing is a great way to improve your skills in a language and to explore more in its vocabulary and grammar. I love reading and especially reading novels and short stories ... following all the events makes me following also the rules of a language so I wanted to ask if someone have sites of easy short stories in spanish or something since I just started learning it and I want to explore more of it .

Thank you in advance.

Que recurso fantástico! Hay muchos libros en Español y además en Inglés, y por lo tanto es más fácil de entender realmente la historia.

(http://cuentosparadormir.com/cuentos-cortos tiene cuentos en Ingles y en Español también - gracias Denfisksson)

Apologies! I'm trying to write in spanish where I can to try to practice!

I said that the children's library you linked to is a fantastic resource, that it has many books in english as well as in spanish which makes it easier to understand the story. I find it so much more useful to have a proper translation available because even if I look up all of the words in the dictionary, I often miss some of the meaning.

The other link I included was one that Denfisksson posted below, and that also has stories in English and Spanish.

You can get children's books from the library (ok so not online exactly but i do have apps with short stories in English for my kids that were free so there probably are Spanish ones too). Anyway, children's stories have great "catch phrases", "idioms", etc. So you really learn how they speak. And they usually involve easy to understand subjects like visiting the fire station or going to the bathroom. I translated a spanish story about getting potty trained to my kids. I was laughing so hard cuz each page was such a surprise as I had no idea what i was about to translate. Good luck!

I really used the Magic Treehouse series translated into Spanish. Short children's books. Take it a chapter at a time, have a dictionary handy, and go for it. Casa de Arbol is the spanish name, and they can be had on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and others.

One to start out with is Dinosaurios al atardecer (Casa del arbol) (Spanish Edition) (Spanish) Paperback – September 1, 2004 by Mary Pope Osborne

And if dinosaurs aren't your thing, here's something similar but different:

El Verano de La Serpiente Marina (Summer of the Sea Serpent)

If you want to see some of the features the Casa de Arbol series offers, I found a couple of Prezi presentations that you might enjoy viewing:

La noche de los ninjas

La hora de los Juegos Olímpicos

This series looks like a good one for beginners, toomath. Thank you for suggesting it!

Marca rules!! They even have an english version of the site, so you can read the original spanish article and at the same time check out what certain words you don't understand mean - read the same article in english. It's pretty niet.

I just purchased your books (volume 1 and 2) and I'm loving them so far. They're very VERY helpful and I'm especially glad that I can finally read something in Spanish and understand it. Thanks a lot. (And I'm also looking forward to buying the French books =).
