Adding "some" or "any" is always marked as wrong in these lessons, even though it is showed as correct translation..

We agree. The right translations should be Do you have any ketchup at home? or Do you have some ketchup at home? (When you surely wait an affirmative answer in this case) and both of them should be accepted.

How do you indicate object in place here?

The right answers should be in fact 'Do you have any ketchup at home?' or 'Do you have some ketchup at home?' (If you surely wait an affirmative answer in this case) Please, Duolingo could well check them up and add them as valid options.
