  5. "The island is over there, so…

"The island is over there, so maybe the creek is somewhere over here."

Translation:Saari on tuolla, joten ehkä puro on jossain täällä.

Seems like it should be "täällä" (not "tuolla") for "over here."

Yes, it should. A mistake of mine, I'm afraid. I've fixed it on our end, but it will take a few weeks for the edit appear in the course. :)

Tuolla on saari should also be accepted, right?

The two sentences "Saari on tuolla" and "Tuolla on saari" are not exactly interchangeable. There is a subtle difference in meaning. The former answers the question of "Where is the island?" (the island is over there), while the latter answers "What is over there?" (there is the/an island over there).

All right, that's fair. Thanks!

Can "niin" be used in place of "joten"?

Should the sentence begin with jos, "if", that would be fine. But then the English sentence would have "if" in the beginning as well. :)
