"The quiet musician speaks only Finnish" should be accepted, no?

I was marked down for the spelling, hiliainen which my dictionary accepts. Is this an alternate spelling or from a dialect or what. Why is this not acceptable? It apparently is by some sources.

It can be found in some centuries old texts, but it's not correct today. Back then spelling was very different.
