"Heillä on kanaa."

Translation:They have chicken.

July 16, 2020

So does this refer to chicken meat? And if I understand correctly, "heillä on kana" would be "they have a chicken"?

They have chicken sounds very odd. Maybe they are serving chicken or they have chickens would sound more natural

It isn't specified what they're doing with the chicken, and "they have chickens" would not refer to an unspecified amount of meat from a chicken, and would instead refer to several animals, which would be expressed in Finnish as "Heillä on kanoja".
