Undulaati is Finnish for what in UK English we call a budgie (budgerigar). The Finnish word for what we in the UK call a parakeet (bigger than a budgie, often green) is papukaija

I still don't get it why do we need this word instead of parrot = papukaija. It seems even in English dialects use differently these types of birds. I admire parrots, budgies and now I love parakeets but I think I do not need to know the difference at the very beginning of the Finnish course, thank you Duo.

I’m sick of this sentence... It’s so annoying !

Is it the equivalent for the french word perruche ?

Looking at Wiktionary, I think perruche can be a parakeet or any other type of parrot, while undulaatti is specifically a parakeet.
