"The tree grows in the middle of the forest."

Translation:Puu kasvaa keskellä metsää.

I thought "in the middle of the forest" would be "keskellä metsässä," however, the correct answer is apparently "keskellä metsää." Can you help me figure out when to use each of these phrases, please?


I asked a finnish friend of mine: the thing is that "keskellä" is already in the adesive (for keski-, for example keskiviikko -> middle of the week -> wednesday) and it means "in the middle". So it is just like english, which you say "The tree grows in the middle of the forest" but not "The tree grows in the middle of in the forest".


I thought the same thing.
