Why can you not put 'jotain' before this?

Thats the reason I came here to the comments, too. I was searching for an answer with jotain

My finnish partner says it should be correct. So i guess flag it ;)

See https://forum.duolingo.com/comment/40864161 — there is jotain there in a very similar phrase.

Jotain muuta syötävä, would it be right??

That'd be "something else to eat".

youre missing the second ä syötävää, both jotain and muuta are partitive, so you need syötävä to also be in partitive, so jotain muuta syötävää
