What is the difference between "beef" and "meat"?

"Beef" is meat taken from a cow. (In contrast to e.g. "pork")

Veal? What is Veal? Different types of meat is confusing.

I do know pork is pig flesh, though.

That is a lot.

Being vegetarian by birth is honestly a lot simpler. :P Everything is differently coloured, so easy to remember which is which!

Chicken, pork and beef also have a different colour, but I admit that cooked and uncut it's not always easy to distinguish, and of course there is more than only these 3 options. :)
