Would ''Varo vaaraa'' be correct too?

I thought: -varovasti- could suit here.

"Varovasti" means "carefully". You can't "be carefully".

Hi Joku, thanks for the comment. I thought -ole varovainen- could also be expressed as -varovasti-. I remember signs on powerpoles advising: -varovasti, hengen vaara-

    Hmm.

    "ole varovainen" - "be careful"

"varovasti" - "carefully", in a careful way

You might see "varovasti" in expressions such as e.g. "aja varovasti!" (drive carefully!).

Usually when there's a "hengenvaara" sign somewhere, it's accompanied by "varokaa" which is the same as "varo" but addresses more that one person and/or addresses a single person more respectfully (do be careful).

Hi pieni-chilipalko, thanks for your comment. Sounds like I need to get back to my powerpole and read the sign again. Perhaps it was -varokaa- for the pole and -varovasti- for the traffic sign.
