What is the difference of meanings between "Tu as entendu parler" and "tu as entendu"?

Entendu = heard
Entendu parler = heard about

I misinterpreted the scope of this and wrote ... de ce livre du grand chef. Should that be accepted?

What's wrong with, "As-tu entendu parles du livre de ce grand chef?"

Why not "...parler de ce livre de ce grand chef"?

I can see how the above is the way it is in popular French, but I can't see why this is wrong: Tu as entendu du livre de ce grand chef?

It’s not how the French would say it.

i understood this as a great book for chefs. like if one wanted to be a better chef, this is a great book for you.

Then you wouldn't need de, but pour.

What's wrong with adding "de cuisine" at the end? Wasn't accepted
