Disculpe and Perdón

When I went to Spain, the first thing I managed to do was get lost in the airport. So here I am, lost in an airport speaking very little Spanish and, thanks be to school and Duolingo, I went to a random boarding area and said: "Disculpeme, ¿sabe que dónde el puerto numero está?".

They seemed to understand, but I'm not sure if I said that right to this day. As I was sprinting down the terminal because, somehow, I was at the opposite end of the terminal and my flight was leaving in 10 minutes (already boarded)...I was saying "Oh, perdón!" and they seemed to understand and get out of my way.

So my question is....did I use the right words or did they just figure I was a noob?

They probably figured you were a noob but that's how we learn, and they understood you which is what's important. I'm guessing you wanted to say "Disculpeme, ¿sabe donde está este puerto?" assuming you showed them your ticket then.

Ah...that Spanish does make more sense. What I said was kind of weird...

Sounds good to me! But, I could be wrong. Good job jumping into it even though you weren't sure if you said it perfectly. Bravery is an important component of learning another language :D
