Would "une larme" also be acceptable for "drop" (rejected 8 Dec 2021) ?

Why not je suis ajouter?

In French, there's effectively no difference between "I add" and "I am adding"; both translate to J'ajoute. Je suis en train d'ajouter can also be translated as "I am adding" (and definitely not as "I add"), but only in the sense that "I am in the middle of adding," or "in the course of adding."

As far as I know, Je suis ajouter is simply ungrammatical.
