I thought sa'baid was sunday.

There are 2 common names for Sunday in Gaelic, one is Didòmhnaich (old calque of Latin diēs Dominica, lit. day of the Lord), the second one being Latha na Sàbaid or Là na Sàbaid, lit. the shabbat day.

Both are correct and used, their usage might depend on region and traditional religion there: Didòmhnaich being more catholic, Latha na Sàbaid more protestant – but I guess it’s more regional difference now. This is mentioned in the tips and notes for the Days skill.

You can read the tips and notes to the lessons in the web browser version of Duolingo at https://duolingo.com, and also on the https://duome.eu/tips/en/gd website. Unfortunately they might not be available in the Duolingo mobile app – so if you use Duolingo on a mobile device, you might want to open your browser and head to duolingo.com for your reading.
