English for Ukrainian speakers is now in beta!
Today, Ukrainian speakers can now learn English on Duolingo! A special thank you to the following volunteer contributors who helped build this course through the Duolingo Incubator: meronam, IrynaKrups, SergioRuido, Rednif_tap, Kebus14, tgaiduk, oksana1585, and vovakondrat77. These contributors are also all Peace Corps volunteers.
This course is in beta, which means you'll notice errors or missing sentences. Please add or report them, so that we can improve the course for future learners.

Awesome! I can hardly wait for the reverse! A Ukrainian/Russian course would be very neat too.
@Luis Is it just a happy occurrence that they are all Peace Corps volunteers or is Duolingo wanting to make more formal connections with organizations that do/need language training?
I think it's just a happy coincidence. Being a PCV (Peace Corps Volunteer) myself, I know that a lot of us are more than happy to spread the knowledge of our host country languages. Duolingo is also a VERY helpful tool to help motivate people in our communities/schools to learn English. I'm glad that these PCVs were able to collaborate and create a Ukrainian to English course. One of the goals of the Peace Corps is to spread knowledge about America to the host country, and this will help in achieving that goal.
This is great news! These Peace Corps ( cum Incubator ) volunteers have indeed completed their pre-beta work in a very efficient and peaceful manner. They almost flew quietly at a fast pace under the radar of the weekly incubator tracker in the first half :)
Being a incubator contributor myself, I know that building a course requires very hard work from the team and imho at this time, this team deserves nothing else but accolades!
I can't wait for Ukrainian from English. I know a few people i could speak it with!
Great! I am very glad of this course. I hope it will help many people. As far as I can tell the number of learners is going up very slowly...
